“Visual 2” is a new milestone in the long-standing, passionate collaboration between the Norwegian pianist Øystein Sevåg and guitarist Lakki Patey. This is the much-awaited sequel to the acclaimed album “Visual,” named “Best Ambient Album of the Year” (1996) in the USA by Wind & Wire magazine.

30 years after its release, “Visual” has proved its enduring appeal in the realm of ambient, neoclassical music, as it increased to over 6 mill. streams and 1 mill. listeners on Spotify in 2023 across 100 + countries. That was 29 years after its release. A number of tracks from “Visual” have been in rotation on Sirius XM radio in the USA over the last years.
The fruitful collaboration between Lakki Patey and Øystein Sevåg extends over decades, beginning back in high school. Their partnership has produced three main projects: the album “Windflowers” (1983), which was nominated for the Norwegian Grammy “Spellemann prize” in jazz; “Visual” (1994), and then its sequel “Visual 2,” which was released on June 28. 2024.
